The last four days have been great. I had not procrastinated. Friday was awesome — filled with work meetings, I had great input and got entrusted strategic decision making — which I love! The weekend was spent clearing out my garage, which I completed. I also hosted two sets of visitors with great food, great conversation, plenty laughs and a dance. It was busy, but good.

Being busy was my choice to fight procrastination. I thought I had won.

I hadn’t. I missed a fundamental truth. Being busy is not a choice. It is a strategy that you use. How you choose to use it, well that’s your choice.

Compare busyness to a double edged sword. Slash it one way, and you achieve everything you hoped for. One wrong move and you sabotage yourself. Either way, it is not about choosing to be busy. It is about using your busyness.

Everybody is busy. Even when I was procrastinating, I was busy. Busy playing games, busy scrolling, busy sleeping. Lord, I could be busy just being busy. Slashing away at life.

But this weekend, I was ‘good busy’ not idling or procrastinating.
